Javier Marti
DAS Photonics CTO & UPV- ICTS MICRONANOFABS coordinator
Received the Master degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, Catalunya, Spain, in 1991, and the Doctor Engineer in Photonics (Ph.D.) from the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, (UPV) Spain, in 1994. Since 2000 he holds a Full-Professor position in Photonics at the UPV. In 2003 he was appointed Director of the Valencia Nanophotonics Technology Centre (NTC at UPV and in 2005 he founded DAS PHOTONICS, a spin-off company of NTC, aimed to develop proprietary photonics technology for high end markets such as Defence (Electronic Warfare Systems) and Space (photonic payloads for QKD optical comms and telecom payloads). He is currently CTO of DAS PHOTONICS and coordinator of the ICTS MICRONANOFABS, the Spanish network of micro-nanofabrication cleanrooms for microelectronics and integrated photonics wafer processing.
He has co-authored over 20 patents and published more than 450 papers in refereed international technical journals and conferences in the fields of microwave photonics, photonic integrated circuits, photonic metamaterials, plasmonics and nano-antennas as well as high-speed wireless-optical communications.
