On 18 and 19 September, the city will host the Valencia Silicon Forum. This was announced on Wednesday at the presentation of the second edition of the Valencia Silicon Forum, an event promoted by Valencia Silicon Cluster and Valencia City Council, with the aim of establishing itself as an annual forum of reference for the semiconductor industry at an international level.
The Councillor for Tourism, Innovation, Technology, Digital Agenda and Investment Attraction, Paula Llobet, presented the event, highlighting that ‘Valencia and its metropolitan area account for approximately 50% of the country’s human resources in microelectronics and nearly 60% in photonics. This human capital is our main advantage in attracting projects and investment’.
The Valencia Silicon Forum’s mission is to be the global meeting point for the semiconductor industry, with a focus on talent management. Currently, more than 50% of the Spanish industry’s workforce is concentrated in Valencia, reinforcing the city’s relevance as a hub for technological innovation.
Highlights of this 2025 edition include: the presentation of the VLC Chip City Award to Ray Stata, founder of Analog Devices, a historical figure in microelectronics; the participation of the Global Head of Talent at TSMC, a world leader in semiconductors; a round table discussion on urban technology enclaves, analysing how cities can become drivers of innovation; and the 4th meeting of the Spanish Group on the European Chips Act 2.0, which will allow Valencia to contribute to the legal and financial framework of the sector in Europe.
This forum will have a major economic and social impact on the city, attracting investment, generating skilled employment and promoting the Valencia brand as a Mediterranean hub for innovation. The Valencia Silicon Forum 2025 thus reaffirms the city’s commitment to leading the global race for semiconductor talent and positioning itself at the forefront of Europe.
The event will take place on 18 and 19 September at the Bancaja Foundation, with access for professionals, companies and students interested in forming part of the Valencian technological ecosystem.
