Jens Drews is serving as Director Government Affairs EMEA for GlobalFoundries (GF), a leading manufacturer of essential semiconductors and Europe’s largest contract manufacturer for customers worldwide. His responsibilities include all government relations from the local and state level to national governments in Europe, Middle East and Africa as well as the EU institutions. Based in Dresden, Germany, he has held this position since GF was established in March 2009 through the acquisition of the AMD semiconductor facility in Saxony.

Joining the AMD Dresden start-up team in January 1997, Jens has served in various communications and government relations functions with increasing levels of responsibility. Before his tenure at AMD and GF, he worked as a journalist for a daily newspaper in Dresden. He has studied in Germany and the United States and taught political science and history classes in the US, graduating with a master’s degree in political science from Pennsylvania State University, State College, PA.
