Maria Marced

Former TSMC Europe President, Corporate Director of CEVAIQE, KD and Sequans Communications

Maria Marced is a distinguished Spanish telecommunications engineer and executive leader in the microelectronics industry. Born in Valencia, she holds a degree and a doctorate in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

 

Maria’s career spans several major technology companies. She spent 19 years at Intel, where she rose to the position of Vice President and General Manager for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region. In 2003, she joined Philips Semiconductors, later NXP, as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Connected Multimedia Solutions Business Unit, eventually leading Sales and Marketing. From 2007 until December 2023, she served as President of TSMC Europe, playing a pivotal role in establishing TSMC’s European fab2.

 

Currently, Maria serves on the boards of CEVA, IQE, KD, and Sequans Communications, and she is Chairwoman of the GSA EMEA Leadership Council. Her work has earned her numerous accolades, including the Global Industry Leader Award in 2024 at ChipEx in Israel, recognition by The Wall Street Journal in 2002 as one of the top three most powerful businesswomen in Europe, and the VLC Ambassador designation from the city of Valencia, along with the VLC Chipcity Award in 2024. She is also a member of Spain’s PERTE CHIP Strategic Expert Group, contributing to the national semiconductor strategy.
