The CEV hosts the 1st Valencia Silicon Forum

Today, the CEV auditorium hosted the ‘1st Valencia Silicon Forum’, an event organised by Valencia Silicon Cluster (VASIC), the CEV, the University of Valencia and the Polytechnic University of Valencia, in collaboration with the Regional Government and PerteChip for microelectronics and semiconductors. at which the two UPV chairs on photonic chips and microelectronic design and the UV chair on advanced materials for microchips and the International Semiconductor Campus were presented. The event fundamentally highlighted the leadership of the Valencian Community in talent in this sector and in the awarding of PERTE Chip chairs.   In her speech, the president of CEV Valencia, Eva Blasco, highlighted the strength of the microchip and semiconductor sector, ‘which is at the heart of digital technological innovation,’ and emphasised the strategic position of our region ‘to lead development and innovation in this field, not only nationally, but also at the European level.’   For her part, the president of Valencia Silicon Cluster, María Teresa Bacete, stressed that ‘in terms of microchips and semiconductors, we Valencians are in luck, as all the relevant indicators show that our region has the best-developed ecosystem in Spain in the integrated microelectronics and photonics sectors.’ ‘The approval of the three Chip Chairs at Valencian universities will be a driving force for strengthening and helping the sector to grow in the Valencian Community. It is now essential to continue working and to form a bilateral State-Generalitat committee, involving industry and universities, to successfully implement the necessary actions for the execution of the PERTE Chip,’ she said.   The event also featured speeches by the President of the Regional Government, Carlos Mazón; the Government Delegate, Pilar Bernabé; the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure; the Rector of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, José E.
